As of April 21st 2015, Google began ranking of mobile websites in respect of how its search algorithms function. There is a huge shift towards booking travel on mobile devices.

In 2014 it is estimated that 18% of all digital travel bookings were made on mobile devices such as smart phones or iPads. This number is expected to climb to 37% by 2018 or about $60 billion of the $200 billion dollars of online travel by 2018.

You don’t have to build a special app for your hotel to be mobile ready. New web technologies allow websites to be configured to be “mobile ready” and formatted properly, when a user views on a mobile device. This way, you are not required to update two versions of a website, or a mobile app on various platforms.
